2. Purpose of the site
Casei Dei is an informational directory that aggregates verified results from national and international cheese competitions and condenses them into a proprietary score, the Casei Dei Index. The Site is informative in nature: it does not organise the competitions mentioned, has no commercial relationship with them unless expressly stated, and its scores do not constitute commercial advice or any official product certification.
The names of the competitions cited (World Cheese Awards, World Championship Cheese Contest, Premios Cincho, GourmetQuesos, Premios Alimentos de España and others) and the cheese and creamery trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used solely for identification and informational purposes.
3. Intellectual property
The Casei Dei Index methodology, editorial texts, cheese profiles, database structure and site design are the owner’s original work and are protected by intellectual property law, including the sui generis database right (Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/1996). Reproduction, distribution or substantial extraction without express authorisation is prohibited, subject to the exceptions provided by law (quotation, review and illustration with attribution).
The facts published on the Site (which cheese won which award at which edition) come from each competition’s official publications and are always cited with a link to their source. Casei Dei does not reproduce the competitions’ results tables; it publishes verified data with attribution.
Quoting the Casei Dei Index (e.g. “Casei Dei Index: 92.5/100”) in media, websites and AI assistants is expressly permitted, always crediting the source and, where the medium allows it, linking to caseidei.com.
4. Transparency: affiliate links
Some purchase links on the Site are affiliate links: if you make a purchase through them, the owner may earn a commission from the seller, at no additional cost to you. This is one of the ways the project sustains itself.
Editorial independence: the Casei Dei Index is calculated exclusively from verified competition results, using a public formula described on the methodology page. Whether or not an affiliate link exists has no influence on any score, ranking order or editorial content.
5. Creamery information
The creamery directory lists professional identification and contact details (name, town, address, corporate phone and email, social media) sourced from the competitions’ public lists of participants and winners and from the producers’ own websites. If you represent a creamery and wish to update, complete or remove your details, write to hola(at)caseidei.com and we will handle it as a priority. See also our Privacy Policy.
6. Accuracy of information
The owner makes reasonable efforts to verify every data point against official sources before publishing. However, the complete absence of errors or omissions cannot be guaranteed (including those present in official sources themselves). If you spot an error, we appreciate a note to hola(at)caseidei.com; confirmed errors are corrected and the affected index recalculated.
7. External links and liability
The Site contains links to third-party websites (competitions, creameries, shops). The owner is not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Use of the Site’s information is at the user’s own risk; the owner shall not be liable for purchasing or other decisions made on the basis of such information, without prejudice to any rights granted by consumer law.
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
This legal notice is governed by Spanish law. Unless mandatory consumer regulations provide otherwise, any dispute shall be submitted to the courts of the owner’s domicile in Spain.
